Australian e-waste issue looms.

ree

The ABC has recently produced an article about the e-waste issue Australia is facing that is set to get much worse. The Australian population per capita has a very large e-waste profile compared to the global average. Planned obsolescence is built into every device produced. Electronic devices are difficult to break down and we can only re-purpose certain materials. This means the most efficient way by far for recycling electronics is to reuse it.There is a lot of information in this article. This issue needs more traction out there so we can turn this situation around. Please give it a watch.

Substation33 has been innovatively reusing and repurposing e-waste for 13 years now. If you have unused devices at home please consider recycling them so we can give them a second life and keep them from landfill.

We accept e-waste donations Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm (but unfortunately cannot pick up unless there is a very large amount).
