At Substation33, we recycle anything with a cord and/or a battery. While most items are dismantled and sorted into parts, every now and then a piece of tech history turns up at our e-waste drop-off point like this National Video Cassette NV-9210. Released in the early 1980s, just a few years after VHS first appeared in Japan, machines like this were likely found in workplaces, schools, broadcast settings and at home, to record, replay, and archive media - long before streaming services and DVDs. Have you ever used one of these, or remember when they were around? We’d love to hear your stories and help piece together more of its history!
