R U OK Day update …
Emma, our Transition to Work specialist, toured Substation33, Canstation, and our container drop-off point at Uptown Centre yesterday. She checked in on people and promoted the message of R U OK Day. We used the signs as a way to bring up the topic of mental health awareness in the workplace and find out how people are going.
At Substation33 we like to check in to see if our people are doing OK. If people speak up about not doing well, we offer support and help formulate a plan to get them back on the path to being OK if they want that type of support.
If you are worried about a friend or colleague, anytime is a good time to check in and ask them “R U OK?” If you are not OK, please reach out to a friend, GP, hotline or mental health worker to help get you started on the path to feeling better.
*Special thanks to our amazingly crafty volunteer Lincoln, who made these R U OK call to action signs with the laser cutter, paint and e-waste! Find Help
