Substation33 Hosts students from LORDS

Substation33 was delighted to host a large contingent of students from LORDS (Lutheran Ormeau Rivers District School).

The students had a guided tour of our facilities, learning about what we do at Substation33 and the various projects we are working on such as: the Flooded Road Early Warning Signs we design and manufacture onsite; and PowerWells, who use repurposed lithium ion batteries and other waste products to bring light to communities without electricity both in Australia and abroad. Both of these projects make extensive use of e-waste materials in the manufacturing process.

The tour included time for deconstruction where the students got to work breaking down some e-waste for recycling.

It was great to have the students here and we love sharing what we do here to recycle and repurpose e-waste.
