This is Simone, Gunya Meta Trainee.

Simone has come to us from Gunya Meta, and is doing a Cert I in Workplace Skills with Substation33. Simone comes from a big family where she has been a carer for the last 7 years. She has seen first hand how hard it is to reenter the workforce after being out of it for so long.

Simone is very happy about being given such an opportunity to learn and grow in a welcoming and supporting place like Substation33. The atmosphere is always easy going and people from all walks of life and backgrounds can feel accepted and find a safe space here. If you have the right attitude towards learning and are not afraid of a bit of hard work you’ll do great here.

Simone has been learning a wide array of skills for the workplace, from e-waste deconstruction.

soldering, laser cutting, barista training basic office admin skills. With her new qualification and some help from us along the way, Simone's working future is looking a lot brighter.
