Volunteer Spotlight : Gaynor

This is Gaynor, and she has been volunteering at Substation33 for three years. Every Friday you can find her at one of the tables in the e-waste deconstruction area with her pink toolbox diligently breaking down e-waste. Gaynor adds a sunny presence to our deconstruction area and is always happy to have a little chat.Gaynor treasures her time at Substation33, has learned many handy skills, and met a lot of people from different backgrounds, making some friends along the way. Substation33 is a place where people can feel comfortable being themselves in a non-judgmental and supportive environment. In the time she has attended Substation33 Gaynor’s support workers have noticed a big improvement in her confidence, social skills, and social connections. This is something we see often at Substation33, and it makes it a wonderful place to volunteer.

If you or someone you know has considered volunteering, give us a call and have a talk to us about it. It could be a life changing choice.
